Meet the Owner

Counseling services are provided by Rev. Julie Morrissey, MA who is the owner and operator of the non-profit Day by Day Counseling Center. Julie’s mission in life is to help people be more successful and happier, using the most efficient, practical path possible. She helps clients experience improvements in their relationships, productivity, time management, motivation, leadership skills, flexibility, goal attainment, creativity, stress reduction, work/life balance, and spiritual life.

Rev. Julie Morrissey earned her Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University. She was conferred with her Master’s degree and continues to research mindfulness, spirituality, and other health-related topics.  Julie approaches each person’s situation from a practical, yet spiritual approach. Julie is a federally recognized ordained minister. She received her ministry degree from the interdenominational ADL seminary. The ADL ministry program affirms that the seminary experience is a process of spiritual transformation, and at the center of that journey, is the development of empathy and genuineness towards others. This is expressed for the minister in a professional capacity, utilizing the greatest degree of love at all times. Counseling helps people along their path to understanding, growth, and well-being. The objectives can include finding a life purpose, overcoming obstacles, putting pain and grief into perspective, marital assistance, and other difficult life events.

Effective guidance and counseling are about a number of things: experience, expertise, a clear understanding of the situation, concise goals, and having the knowledge and the tools to effectively navigate difficult life issues. Julie strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern, and action to the counseling process in order to maximize outcomes and cultivate genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, marriages, and families.

Rev. Julie has over 9 years of counseling and consulting experience with a wide range of clients in a variety of settings. Including counseling provided at the Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic, the Johnson City Downtown Day Center, the ETSU College of Nursing, Northeast State Community College, Bearland Properties & Management LLC, as well as contracting with other local agencies, small businesses, and churches to provide services to indviduals.
